PSP RISE (Resilience. Intervention. Support. Education.) is a free provincial mental health service designed specifically for Manitoba’s public safety personnel. We provide accessible, evidence-based mental health supports ranging from prevention and wellness programming to psychotherapy, psychiatric consultation, and medication support.
PSP RISE is available to current, former, and retired public safety personnel living in
Manitoba.
This includes individuals working in roles such as:
- Police services
- Fire services
- Paramedic services
- Corrections
- Dispatch and communications
- Border services
- Search and rescue
- Public safety communications
- Other public safety occupations
Yes. PSP RISE is available to former and retired public safety personnel. We recognize that the impacts of operational stress and potentially traumatic experiences can continue long after someone leaves the profession.
Yes. Retired public safety personnel are eligible to access PSP RISE services.
PSP RISE recognizes the important role volunteers play in supporting Manitoba communities. If you serve in a volunteer public safety role, we encourage you to contact us to discuss your eligibility.
No. You can self-refer directly to PSP RISE.
You may also be referred by a physician, nurse practitioner, psychologist, employer-supported program, or another healthcare provider if you choose.
No. You do not need to see your healthcare provider before contacting PSP RISE.
Individuals can access services directly through self-referral.
No. PSP RISE services are provided free of charge to eligible public safety personnel.
Yes. PSP RISE services are confidential and delivered in accordance with professional and legal privacy requirements.
No. Information about your participation is not shared with your employer without your knowledge and consent, except in situations where disclosure may be required by law or professional standards.

You do not need to be experiencing a mental health crisis or have a mental health diagnosis to access PSP RISE.

Yes. PSP RISE uses a client-led approach to care.
Individuals can choose the type and level of support that best meets their needs and goals. Our team can also help guide you through available options.
Services are available both virtually and in person, depending on the type of support being accessed and where you are located.

Yes. PSP RISE is available province-wide. Virtual services help ensure public safety personnel throughout Manitoba can access support regardless of location.
PSP RISE is delivered by a multidisciplinary team that includes mental health clinicians, therapists, psychiatrists, and program staff with experience supporting public safety personnel.
Our collaborative approach allows us to match individuals with the supports that best fit their needs, whether that involves wellness programming, psychotherapy, psychiatric consultation, or additional resources.
Public safety personnel routinely experience unique operational stressors and may be exposed to potentially traumatic events throughout their careers. PSP RISE was created to address gaps in mental health services and improve access to specialized support for Manitoba’s public safety communities.
We ask public safety personnel to take care of us every day. PSP RISE was created to help ensure we are taking care of them.

Once you have registered, a member of the PSP RISE team will contact you to learn more about your needs, answer any questions you may have, and discuss available services and supports.
Together, we will identify the supports that best fit your goals and preferences. This may include self-directed wellness resources, classes, group programs, individual therapy, psychiatric consultation, or a combination of services.
Yes. Individuals who have an active WCB claim are still eligible to access PSP RISE services.
If you are currently receiving support through WCB or have an active claim related to your mental health, we encourage you to contact us. Our team will work with you to understand your situation, discuss available options, and help coordinate services as appropriate.
You do not need to determine your eligibility or navigate the process on your own—we can help guide you through it.
